Make your first project

You can have a first video out in a few minutes. Start in the Simple workspace.

1. Choose New project and give it a name.
2. Drag videos, photos and music into the window, or use Import.
3. Drag clips onto the timeline in the order you want. They snap together.
4. Trim a clip by dragging either end. Press CmdCtrl+B to split at the playhead.
5. Add a title from Text, a look from Filters, or captions from a subtitle file.
6. Press CmdCtrl+E, choose a preset such as TikTok or YouTube, and export.

Saving

Kaptcho autosaves when you pause and when you switch away, and keeps earlier versions. Press CmdCtrl+S whenever you like.

Go deeper

Press Tab to switch to the Advanced workspace. Your project stays the same. Only the tools change. See the Advanced tour.
