A tour of Porunga, the advanced mode

The browser, timeline tools, inspector, scopes and keyboard-first editing.

Updated 8 October 2026

Porunga is Kaptcho's advanced mode, for when you want to control every detail. It shows the same project as Shenron, with more tools on screen.

What you see

  • Browser on the left, with tabs for Project, Photos, Files, Stock, Fonts and Stickers.
  • Effects panel under it, with tabs for Effects, Transitions, Titles and Audio.
  • Viewer with a Source and a Program view, and timecode you can type into.
  • Timeline with the main track, extra video and audio tracks, waveforms and a toolbar of editing tools.
  • Inspector on the right, with sections such as Transform, Crop, Effects, Colour, Audio and Speed for the selected clip.
  • Scopes, a luma histogram you can switch on above the viewer to check exposure.
  • Markers to flag moments on the timeline. Press M to add one.

Tools

The timeline toolbar has Select, Track select forward, Ripple trim, Roll, Slip, Slide, Blade, Hand and Zoom. The Actions button at the top (or CmdCtrl+K) finds any command by name.

Keyboard first

Most things have a key. J, K and L play backwards, pause and play forwards. I and O set in and out points. B picks the blade. See Keyboard shortcuts.

Back to Shenron

Press Tab at any time. Anything you made in Porunga stays in the project.
