Keyframes
Animate position, scale, rotation, opacity and volume over time.
A keyframe records a value at a moment in time. Kaptcho fills in the movement between keyframes.
Add one
- Select a clip and move the playhead to where the movement starts.
- In the inspector, click the diamond beside a value, such as Scale or Opacity.
- Move the playhead forward and change the value. A new keyframe is added by itself.
What you can animate
Position, scale, rotation, opacity, crop, and audio volume and pan.
Smooth or straight
Pick ease in, ease out, ease in and out or linear for each keyframe. Ease gives soft starts and stops. Linear keeps a steady pace.
Adjusting
Drag a keyframe left or right to change its timing. Select it and change the value to change its size. Press Delete to remove it.
Tips
- Use fewer keyframes. Two or three is usually enough.
- Add a short ease at each end to avoid movement that feels mechanical.
