Speed, reverse and freeze frames

Change the speed

Select a clip, open Speed and choose a rate. Below 100% is slow motion. Above 100% is fast.

• Audio follows the speed by default. You can mute it for slow motion.
• The clip gets shorter or longer on the timeline to match.

Reverse

Switch on Reverse in the same panel. The clip plays backwards.

Freeze frame

Move the playhead to the frame you want, select the clip and choose Freeze frame. Kaptcho splits the clip and adds a still of that frame. Drag its end to hold it for as long as you like.

For the smoothest slow motion

Footage shot at a higher frame rate gives the cleanest slow motion. If you slow down ordinary footage a lot, it may look steppy. That is the footage, not the editor.
